Legal Issues in Nursing

Nursing, as all licensed professionals need to understand the professional standards by which they are going to be held accountable. The concept of codified standards and common law standards is explained. Nurses and licensed professionals will learn the “five rights” of delegation to avoid any negligent delegation issues. This course will explain the four required elements of malpractice and a general overview of the defense of these types of actions. Additionally, this course discusses the importance of working within a professional’s “scope of practice.”
