The clientele making up our current resident population has changed resulting in our staff facing a new breed of behavioral challenges These conditions include behaviors resulting from conditions such as dementia, mental health issues, TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury), etc.These conditions individually or in combination are likely to result in demonstrations of undesirable and or unsafe behaviors. Approximately 86% of undesirable or threatening behaviors are the result of staff actions. This introductory behavioral management session will engage participants in the thought process of understanding the origins of behaviors, preventing behaviors and dealing with behaviors commonly found today in nursing home residents.
